Unfortunately that did not work, but I did find a solution!

I completed the Song of the Hero section in Lanayru province (I had just looked around and talked to Golo before). After I had completed it, I returned to Eldin Volcano and the cutscene took place!

try going back to farron woods, maybe you have to redo that part!

I recently made the mistake of glitching my copy of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword when performing the Song of the Hero quest. I completed Faron Woods first (which was correct) but then went to Lanayru Gorge and talked to Golo instead of going to the Eldin province. After realizing my mistake, I went online and found information about the Update Save Data channel that Nintendo released to fix this glitch.

I downloaded the channel, updated my save data, and restarted the game. However, my game does not appear to be fixed. When I go to Eldin, the volcano is supposed to erupt (I looked ahead in a walkthrough and it said that a cutscene should occur), but it does not. Am I doing something wrong?
