I'd recommend just starting over. Delete the previous configuration from the 3DS and go through the network connection process again, as you did before. If you need additional help, please post as much information about your wireless network.

Wireless Mode: (a, b, g, and/or n)

Wireless Channel: (i.e. 1-11)

Wireless Security Type: (i.e None, WEP, WPA, WPA2 (if WPA2) please specify AES or TKIP)

Encryption Key Length: (i.e. 7 characters)

SSID Broadcast: (Does your network appear in a list of networks on your computer or must the user manually enter the network's name?)

Also, some users enable a security feature which allows/excludes devices based on their "MAC" address. This feature is only minimally helpful in protecting the network from un-authorized access since serious hackers who've broken WPA or WEP encryption know how to fake MAC addresses and the authorized users generally forget about this extra step. If you wish to keep this enabled you'll need to make sure the MAC address of the 3DS is correctly entered in the allowed device list.

Turning off the security on your network while playing online is a bad solution for long term use!!!

The error code you got (003-1101) can only be caused by incorrect security settings. Make absolutely sure that everything is inputted correctly. If it still does not work, disable security on your router while playing online.

I emailed Nintendo, they pretty much showed me the exact same stuff they had on their site. It didn't help me that much. Anyone else have any new suggestions?

Power cycle your router and modem. To do this, unplug both the modem and the router from the power outlet. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then plug in the router. Try to connect the 3DS online and test for proper response.

Also, try setting your connection to channel setting 1 or 11 (it is usually put to 6 by default).

I did enter my security password properly. it still doesn't work. My Trendnet Router model isn't on their.

Likely cause: It appears that the security settings entered into the Nintendo 3DS are not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.

How to fix: Make sure the security key and security type are entered into the Nintendo DS exactly as they appear in your router's settings.

I keep on getting Error Code 003-1101. My 3DS firmware is the latest which is 3.0.0u6. When I first got my 3DS a week and a half ago, I was able to connect to update the firmware. Then suddenly after, it stopped working. Any ideas?
