My Wii U was working fine since I purchased it, until after the update.

It will NOT connect to my xfinity router now.

*update*

I downloaded an app called wifi analyzer on Google Play (android tablet).

I have a LOT of wifi networks in my neighborhood, so I changed the channel on the xfinity router to 11 (it was set to auto)

and my Wii U WILL connect to xfinity now. Maybe this will help some of you. Good luck!

*update*

Message was edited by: GAMEKENB

I have an Xfinity router/modem. I've tried everything wether its adding +10 to the last numbers of the ip and making the DNS 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1 and 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.2.2. None of these worked, and I'm suspecting that it could be the Wii U that's the problem since everything else can connect to my router but that. Any help?

I am ready to throw this system out the window. I cannot connect to the Internet at all. I don't know how many times I've tried this adding 10 to the ip, not adding 10, changing the dns numbers... 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, etc etc. I can't even get it to connect to the router. I've never even seen a green check mark! It doesn't even try to connect, just straight up red X within a second as soon as I configure all my info. I tried to add my MAC address of the Wii U to my router allow list, turned off the security on my router, etc. tried to connect it at a different house with a different Internet connection.... I don't know what else to try. It will connect through a hot spot on my phone but I can't do the huge first update through my phone without it taking days and racking up my cellphone bill. This is absolutely ridiculous. I don't understand why everything is so hard. Can't connect to the Internet, can't connect a simple second controller to the console (that is another story), nothing. I can connect my 3ds and Wii to the internet just fine so I know Nintendo can do better!. I just don't see the point of having a pretty much useless system... Yeah I can play my games but I want to enjoy downloads, apps, UPDATES would be the most beneficial. Sorry I am ranting but I can't believe how hard and how frustrating this is. If anyone has any tips for the Internet connection please help me. I have no idea what to do, I am going insane with this!

If I buy a Wii U LAN adapter will it work with the Wii U?
