I needed to close a few threads because the bump was only made to add a comment to the situation, not to ask for clarification, or answer the question, or bring about another way to solve the problem. I hope this makes sense.

This thread seemed to get a little heated, but I trust that cooler heads will prevail and we'll get back to tech support. Therefore I'm going to leave this thread open for now. Thanks guys!

-NOA_TECH_WALE

I have said a few times that I don't think it's particularly helpful to assume every old post bump is a problem. People often get to this site through search engines and have similar problems, so if someone posts to ask for more advice or clarification on an existing problem, or to say they've found some solution, I don't think they should be warned about bumping. It's really not a problem in that case, and it's probably more helpful to just answer the question.

Sometimes people may go through and post in several old threads without realizing it, but that's a different thing and I can understand posting a quick reminder. Ultimately though, all of this is up to the mods.

"bumping old threads" is not a rule breaker on this site as ONE-OF-THREE showed me. And NightFire5 isnt a forum mod so they dont even need to be going around "policing" posters in this forum like they are.

~Morgana

For some reason this thread popped up on the top page, and I saw the date of Q837's post says November 12. I thought today was the 12th and it was posted just now (this year)! That was just a freak coincedence I guess, didn't mean to bump old thread and truly thought it was posted several hours ago.

Well first of all, to answer that my personal name isn't Morgana. I don't know why you assumed that and tried to make it sound like it was to try and make it seem that I was breaking any forum rules. Morgana is simply my pen name and solely a name just for this account and forum, in fact I use Morgana as a name on a lot of my sites in place of my actual real life name. I don't post up my personal information or my real name online.

And second I evidently wasn't the only one on this post who "bumped" it and posted onto this old thread because if you look above my post a person named HADAA posted on here too. So because of that I thought well if I see other people doing it on the forum then maybe it is ok to do it.

Are you a forum official moderator, may I ask? Just curious. If so you may wan't to talk to HADAA as well about "bumping" old threads if you are going to single me out. I find that only fair that I am not the only one getting the warning if I am not the only one doing it. And if you are not a forum moderator, meaning no disrespect, I feel it's not exactly your place to come in and mini mod against me trying to be a forum moderator and attacking me. I find that rather silly.

If I am doing something wrong I expected an official moderator to come along and tell me. Not just someone who happens to post on this forum as a contributor. But if you are a mod or an official forum officer then I digress and I understand your concern about my posting on an old thread. To settle this issue I will merely go over to the forum rules section and read it so I don't make any more mistakes. But I highly doubt I have seeing as how if the mods of this forum didnt want any posters to post on the "old" threads and "bump" them then you would think they would simply put a rule up about it or LOCK the thread so no one can post on it. Seeing as how neither of that has occured I think its safe to say I am not in the wrong.

EDIT: So it seems there are no forum rules or anything of the sort to go by on this sites forum. Hmmm... that is curious. If anyone knows where the rules are and can point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it but if there arent any rules to be found then I believe that means I am doing nothing wrong by replying to old threads seeing as it isnt against any rules if no rules on it are to be found.

~Morgana

It may be tempting to keep the time up to date with daylight savings time but honestly looking at the DS for the accurate time isnt all that important when I am sure you may have a house clock or maybe a cell phone and your computer you could use to check the time. That way you wont ever have to change the time on your DS and wont ever have to get the penalty. Just a suggestion .

~Morgana

Firstly, providing personal information, including your name, is against the forum rules.

Secondly, please don't go around bumping old threads.
