The Wii games' save data is not stored on the SD card; it is stored in the Wii's system memory. You can backup and restore game save data to/from your SD card through the Data Management section of the Wii Options.

If your save data is gone, that means it is no longer in your Wii's system memory. If you happened to back up your game save data to your SD card, you can restore the data by copying it from the SD card to the Wii system memory in the Data Management section of the Wii Options.

When you click on the SD card icon on the Wii Home Menu, it only shows you the games and channels that you stored on the SD card; it does not show the game save data here. Just because you don't see the game save data when you look there does not mean that the data is gone. The only way to see if there is game save data stored on the SD card is to go to the Wii Options and click on "Data Management."

And... if your game save data is mysteriously disappearing, then there may be a problem with your Wii's system memory, and you Wii may need to be repaired. If this is the case, you can contact Nintendo to set up a repair.

Just so you know Nintendo does not make SD cards. If it shows Nintendo on it then there's a problem. Any way... did you ever turn off the Wii while doing anything with the card(transferring data, saving data, etc.)? If so the Instruction Manuel for Wii(and DSi)states do NOT turn off the system or if you are doing something with a DS card/Disk(Wii) not to take it out. If this is the case then sadly you can not revive your data. If this is NOT the case then please explain a bit more.

Your sd might be faulty. Also, someone might have accidently wiped files from it. If you cant get them back and keep them on this sd, try a new one...

to put it on, just go to wii settings and memory, select a game, and click copy

*wifi games wont copy to sd

saved data lost (SD card)

So the Wii I am using is relatively new, not more than a year and a few months old. All of the games I have been playing on it were bought new. The SD card that I am having trouble with is the Nintendo one (2GB) that was bought new around the same time as the Wii.

The other day I set up my Wii to play and my SD card had lost all of the save data. What alerted me to this is trying to load a game and it not seeing any save data. Going to the SD card menu it only showed two downloaded demos that must have been from forever ago and no save files for any of my games. My SD card has not left my Wii, there were no falls or physical damage to the card. And I know for a fact the card is mine and not someone elses.

Does anyone have any idea why this might occur? Or any way I might be able to recover my save data? Even if I need to transfer it to a new card or can only save some of it. I had a lot of hours logged onto those files.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
