Wii remote not working properly

So...I have a wii remote that seems to work fine when I use it on the main menu. When I try to play mario party 8, it lets me set the game up, pick characters, etc,...but when I'm asked to "hit the dice block" (make an upward gesture), the remote does nothing. It is still lit up, but unresponsive to the move made. Like I said, it works fine in all the menus and everything, but when it comes to making a motion, it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Unusual Wii Remote Problem

I searched for someone with a similar issue and couldn't find one, so here goes. I am having two different but similar problems with each of my Wii remotes.

With the first one, if I leave the batteries in it when not in use, the next time I go to use it, the remote will not turn on (no lights at all). I tried replacing the batteries the first time this happened and the remote then worked for that gaming session. However, after letting it sit for a while (sometimes for less than an hour) it would fail to turn on again. I tested the batteries, and the betteries were still good. I found that if I removed the batteries for 10-15 minutes, when I would put them back in the Wii remote it would work again. So, I've taken to just removing the batteries every time I am done using the remote, and putting them back in when I am ready to use it again. What is causing this problem?

With the second remote there is a similar problem, although there are some significant differences. When I pick up the remote, while the Wii console is powered off, I will get lights on the remote, it will work, and allow me to turn the wii console on and use the remote as intended. However, if the remote goes to sleep and shuts itself off (for example when I am watching a movie on netflix), it will not power back on until I remove and reseat the batteries. Once the Wii console is powered off, I can leave the batteries in this remote and it will continue to work. Why is this happening?

This whole situation is very frustrating. It is not the batteries. I have synched the remotes. And when they will turn on, they work just fine. The problem is that they frequently will not turn on unless I remove and then reinsert the batteries.

Wii U Freezing

Hi everyone,

I hope someone here will be able to help me with my Wii U problem. I installed the system update this afternoon and ever since my system has been freezing. It will lock up on the home screen or take longer than normal to launch any game, application, and Netflix.

When attempting to play Super Mario U the game would either freeze before it would load or I would be able to launch the game but then it would freeze during selecting play options.

I launched the saved two player game. We both activated our players using the Wii remote but then I could not tap OK on the Wii U tablet to start the game. However I could start the game in one player mode and then add in a second player once the game was running.

Any ideas what could be going on??

Wii Balance Board

When we attempt to turn on our Balance Board, the power light flashes blue a couple of times and that's all, is the thing broke, we replaced the batteries.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

"Unable to Read the Disc"

Hello,

My Wii stopped reading all of my game discs today.

The Disc Channel reads, "Unable to read the disc. Check the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting." Has a large disc icon with a question mark (?) on it.

Is there a solution? Would the Wii Lens Cleaning Kit be a fix? Do I need to get it repaired? Do I need to get it replaced?

Lately, the Wii has been very loud when a disc is inserted.

Any help would be appreciated.

my wii its turn off but the place were u put the dics in u know how it turns blue well like a said my wii is off but its flickering blue on and off is any thing rong with it im worry

Im in the middle of a game, then my wii freezes and makes this weird beeping noise. I have to unplug the wii from the outlet. PLEASE HELP!!!

Wii sensor bar infrared light misaligned

Hi,

I accidently bumped my Wii sensor bar, so I used my cellphone camera to make sure all the lights still work. They do, but I noticed the 2nd light is not aligned properly with the rest. It's higher than them. Can this affect gameplay in any way? I just don't know if I caused that to happen or it was already like that. I was thinking of just getting a replacement one, anyway, but I don't want to bother getting a replacement if the sensor bars are prone to having a light or two not exactly aligned.

wiimote is shutting off on wii shopping channel

Has anyone else had a issue like this? When i access the wii shopping channel it shuts my wiimote off. I have tried turning the controler back on and it turns on for a second and shuts off.. It isnt the batts. their fine.. the wii isnt frozen but when i use the other functions like weather mii channel games the wiimote works fine. i have tried resyncing pulling batts etc. Could it be the fact i have a non nintendo wiimote? its made by nyco. any sudjestions would be great.

The small, plastic, white disc in my Wii became disconnected!

I was trying to play Brawl, but my Wii wouldn't read it. Since our wii was open (I was trying to fix something), I blew on the dic while it was inside, trying to brush away any clumps of dust that may have interferred. Is there anyway for this to be fixed? And if it would need to be sent in and reapired, would it cost only a little bit since this is only a small fix?

Can't Navigate on Home Screen, Remotes only half working

Let me start by saying I am pretty much a Wii dummy even though I am generally somewhat tech savvy.

I have a Wii that's about 3 years old and hasn't been used in quite some time. Today was my son's 5th birthday and I bought him a few games to start playing as well as his own remote. But, when I set it up and got the new remote synced, I couldn't navigate the home screen with the arrows.

I know the remote was working because the home button, + and - buttons and A button were working.

Also, where the disc is usually shown to choose, it showed Wii system update. So, pretty sure I need to update my Wii.

My question is, how do I update my Wii when I can't navigate the home screen to get to the Internet?

Hopefully someone can answer quickly because I have one very unhappy 5 year old on my hands!!
