!!MAJOR!! Nintendo DSi problem. My brother's DSi is completely unusable!

Hi everyone. My borthers's Nintendo DSi has a very big problem. He can't get into anything on his system. Everytime we tries to play game one of his games (his game cards have been tested in MY own DSi, so I know they do work) , Flipnote Studio, his DSi Ware games etc. this error message comes up:

"An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting."

All the manual said is that if the error keeps showing up, the system must be inspected.

My borther and I have no idea what caused this problem (if you have an idea on what might have happened, please tell me). My mom is wondering how much money it would cost to have the DSi fixed.

Usually getting a ds system fixed costs around 50-75 dollars. Hope this helps.

You could try reformatting the system.

well if your dsi is still under it's warinty you can send it in for free  if not you can register your brothers dsi pin code to resive a FREE 90 day warinity extenision hope i helped

Actually, I'm pretty sure that is wrong.

 

Registering a DSi will extend the warrenty by 3 months. It only extends it if its still IN warranty. (So 15 months from purchase)

Autosaver1 is correct. You can only get the three month extension by registering the system while the original warranty is still active.

Try to go to the system settings and format the system memory.
