Re: What is the WiiU?

Basically, the Wii U is the Wii 2. A gaming console.

Re: What is the WiiU?

No. You have to have the Wii U turned on the tv to use the controllers which is what I think you mean by the portable part of the Wii U. (Although you can leave it on while other people are watching tv and the controllers will still work as said at the Nintendo E3 Press Conference.) so therefore it is not portable so you can't play it in the mall or in a car. Sorry!

If you want to do it in the car or the mall, you'll need the actual console and an unlicensed battery pack.

Re: What is the WiiU?

to furter explain what was stated above, yes the WiiU is a game console. it is backwards compatible with wii games, wii remotes, nunchucks, classic controller, balance board, etc... however, it is an entirely new system, so it will have new games that are in a much higher resolution (1080p to be exact!) and will not be released until after March 31, 2012 according to nintendo. and just to clarify, the controller can NOT be used by itself. it runs off of the console and the game inside of it. however if you're close by to the console, and you wish to display what's on the t.v. on the contoller, you may.

Did you know?- 1080p

Did you know that the human eye can only see in a standard television size's 1080 rowular resolution? And that a non-tube TV's "progressive scan" is the best possible scan type?

Re: What is the WiiU?

It is basicly a wii 2. But if say, your dad wants to watch the big game, but you want to play, your dad can see the game, and  you can play as well.
