Re: my dsi's R button

Sorry, but I am not sure if the place you heard about in Scarborough, ON, Canada is actually an official Nintendo repair facility or not, as the only one I know about is in British Columbia, located with Nintendo of Canada headquarters.:)

But if you give a call to Nintendo's 1-800-255-3700 (6 am ~ 7 pm Pacific, everyday) Customer Service number, or use their webform to contact them, then they will give you the shipping address for where to send your DSi for the repair and also be able to tell you if this type of repair is covered by the warranty, which I believe it is.

Re: my dsi's R button

Follow the above instructions to set up a repair. However, before shipping off your system, I have a method that may help you. Take a can of compressed air and lightly spray some air under the button to remove any unwanted particles. You can also try taking a dry toothbrush to brush out and sticky substance.

Use the same Nintendo contact information I provided to DARTHEVER and if there is another solution, they will be able to tell you and if it doesn't fix the problem, then they can set up a repair for you.

Re: my dsi's R button

You don't need a can of compressed air to do that trick. All you need to do is make sure your lip area is dry then put you mouth around the "shoulder" area and blow in around the non-functioning button until you feel air moving under it. It should and probably will work again. I did it with two different DSlite systems and a Gameboy Advance SP (I don't use it anymore cause I have 3 lites and an XL but hey) it restored full function to those buttons. Too bad I didn't know that before I got a new lite and then another new lite when the previous one first stopped working. Flipnote Hatena has several Flipnotes going around with visuals if you need to and/or can access it.

Re: my dsi's R button

I do NOT recommend doing this as there is condensation in your breath which can damage internal components inside the DSi.

Re: my dsi's R button

No one has ever complained about that, but I think it's worth it because at least you don't have to immediately go out and buy a new system.

A lot of games are USELESS without the L and R buttons (or at least slow).

Re: my dsi's R button

My DSi shuts itself off thanks to your stupid trick Sometimes in games where you have to manually save, it shuts off and I have to do it again

Re: my dsi's R button

If you do that the R/L buttoons work but it leads to malfunctioning Top screen and/or shutting the system down as soon as its turned on. There is a fix to the turning off but i don't recommend it......

Re: my dsi's R button

If anyone else needs help with their L and R buttons, get a can of compressed air and spray it around the openings of the buttons.

Re: my dsi's R button

Have you tried using a can of compressed air on the L button?

If you've really tried everything, and nothing is working, then you should probably send you DSI into Nintendo for repairs. If your DSI's warranty is still intacted, the repair will be free.

You can start your repair with Nintendo here. Hope this helps.
