Streetpass Problems

Last night I was having some problems with my 3DS's Streetpass. Here's what happened:

I was at Target at midnight for the Black Friday sales. I had gotten a tag when I was in line outside, but there was only a new arrival for Super Mario 3D Land, and not the Mii Plaza. I went to the Mii Plaza, and no new arrivals where there. Later, when i was in the store, I had tagged with someone who I had tagged with before. he came to my Plaze gate, and it said he had been playing Super Mario 3D Land. I then went to Super Mario 3D Land to see what I got, and the two Mystery Boxes where from two strangers. The person who actually MADE IT to my Plaza wasn't appearing on the game at all (although I am aware that he could've not had Streetpass enabled for the game). Can someone please tell me how this problem could've been caused, and how I can possibly avoid it in the future?

BTW, this isn't the first time Streetpass has acted like junk for me. One time, I was at my neighbor's house, and when we tagged, data only showed up on his 3DS.

Re: Streetpass Problems

Sounds to me like your Nintendo 3DS needs a repair as both of the times it was YOUR 3DS ONLY that was having the problems both of the two times. Call 1-800-255-3700 (Nintendo customer support phone number) to get your system repaired.

Re: Streetpass Problems

Well if that is not the case then it is probably a communication error or lag. I still don't think that it is a glitch but that is always a possibility.

Re: Streetpass Problems

I would disable both of your Streetpasses and then enable both of your Streetpasses again. See if that fixs it.

Re: Streetpass Problems

Do it for all of your titles please just so we can accurately try to figure out what the problem is.

Re: Streetpass Problems

What you have described is not a glitch.  Streetpass tags that go to the Mii Plaza are separate from those picked up by a game that uses Streetpass.  When someone transmits game data but not to the Mii Plaza, that is meeting by "Invitation."  The hypen and "Some time ago" are correct.  You do not have to deactivate Streetpass for any titles; everything is working as it should.

Re: Streetpass Problems

It doesn't delete data, it just stops data transmissions from that app.

Re: Streetpass Problems

Just because he had been playing Super Mario Land 3D most recently does not mean that the game sent mystery box information.  Like I said before, Streetpass tags for the Mii Plaza can be separate from in-game tags that utilize Streetpass.

Re: Streetpass Problems

You probably just came into contact with a stranger's 3DS, and got their tag.  Or, since this is at a Target, a 3DS demo station could have broadcast the signal.

Re: Streetpass Problems

Well, I was curious about this too, but the the guys file might not be his own mii. You can choose any mii to be the file owner, and that means that it will use the mii on the file for the mystery boxes, not his actual mii. I am not sure if that made any sense, but I tried. there is nothing wrong.

Re: Streetpass Problems

street pass is weird, sometimes it seems to work perfectly, other times it is just weird. i think it is a random draw wether you get a puzzle piece or not. just accept what ever you get. and if you don't get something don't worry about it. the 3DS is still in a production/testing phase so to speak and there will be bugs that need to be worked out.
