Cannot perform system update

Error codes: 034310 (Cannot connect to the internet)

                   034301 (Cannot connect to Nintendo server)

 

My son can connect to the internet to get on Flipnote Hatena and the Nintendo Web Browser, but when he tries to get on the DSi Shop it says he needs to get the system update to go into the shop. I tried to get the update but I get the error codes above saying I can't connect to the internet to do so. I'm fairly certain it has something to do with the firewall on my computer but I could be wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think it has anything to do with a firewall or security setting.  Try waiting a while and then attempt to download the update.  If you still cannot download the update, call Nintendo at 1800-255-3700 (6am-7pm, Pacific Time, 7 days a week).

It shouldn't have anything to do with the firewall on your computer.  However, your wireless router probably has a firewall.  Try turning it off temporarily and see if you can get the update.
