For some reason I can get my balance board connected to the Wii just fine however when you stand on it it only registers from the bottom left of the board to the top right and in doing so makes it very touchy and telling a 150+ woman that she is 3 lbs. I have changed the batteries and here is the weird part this has not happened once but twice. I got my first one on my 21st birthday from my mother, used it once, then stored it in the box with all the foam and stuff and in an upright position (handle facing up) behind a couch. Second time i tried to use it the board wouldnt read. I traded it into gamestop for another one and the same thing happened. Any ideas because I am broke and already spoke to tech support about it and they said they never heard of this before one one let alone two.
P.S its from the wii fit plus if that makes any diffrence Thanks
Unfortunately, it sounds like the pressure sensors in the Wii Balance Board are completely busted. Even if you weren't broke, I don't believe Nintendo fixes Wii Balance Boards.
As for the cause of this, my guess would be Gamestop. People will trade in broken hardware to Gamestop all the time, but Gamestop's policy on that is (paraphrasing): "As long as it works, we'll buy it." So really, the best thing to do would be to just buy a new Wii Balance Board when you have the money, instead of playing russian roulette with Gamestop.
Thats the problem both of them were new products not used so idk if I just have really bad luck in just the product itself or if I did something wrong
Well technically, Gamestop doesn't sell "new" games. When they get a new shipment of games/hardware, they unwrap the new games and stick them on the shelf. Even though they usually put the hardware back in the box, employees drop and mishandle their games/hardware all the time. So it really wouldn't surprise me that a "new" Wii Balance Board of theirs is broken.
Awesome thanks well lets see if one bought at Sam's club will do any better if not I think I'm done with the whole thing.
This page (click here) has troubleshooting, for what it's worth. I'd also make sure the floor is level. If all else fails you can call Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700 for more troubleshooting. ![]()
