My Wii is stuck on the red light...what to do??

My wii is stuck on the red power light. I push the button and it won't turn green. I use my wii remote and the lights on the wii remote flash and thats it. My lil brother said when he inserted the sd card, it turned off and it didn't turn on. So I unplugged and plugged it back in and the red light appeared. but from there...nothing. please help. It was working just fine before

It is possible that your brother "shocked" the Wii with static electricity while inserting the SD card, which has temporarily frozen it. Try following these steps, but leave it unplugged overnight and see if it helps:

If that doesn't help, you may have to send your console in for repairs.
