Hi.
I bought the game The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword the DAY it launched. After some time, I noticed online this "song of the hero quest glitch" and that Nintendo was working on something to solve the issue.
Now, I haven't reached yet the "song of the hero quest" in the game (I know, I don't rush trough the important games
), so should I download the patch from the Wii Shop Channel so that me and my family can play the game freely without having to worry about this glitch?
Or the patch is only for the people who already have their save files broken?
I searched the answer to this question on the support page here and on the Wii Shop Channel, but neither of them were clear.
Thanks in advance!!
The repair utility is only for people who have already encountered the glitch. ![]()
Just do the Song quest in order of Courage (Water Dragon), Power (Fire Dragon), Wisdom (Thunder Dragon). I did it in that order. I believe the glitch is triggered when doing the Thunder Dragon's portion too soon though there isn't supposed to be an order. If you do break it, then get the patch.
I would download it anyway so it will fix all other files. It is quick and easy.
I downloaded it but as long as you don't do the glitch (talk to the goron in lanayru when you start the quest there) then you won't need to, however if you do download it I think it says that you data will be deleted if you delete the patch.
I deleted the patch and nothing happened to my game.
Oh, I guess I misread it then.
I bought the game on the realease day and i had no problems with this glitch you guys speak of. I beat the whole game and didn't talk to the goron in lanyru. My advice is to not worry about the glitch unless you encouter it.
Guys, I contacted Nintendo and they told me this:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Nintendo of America.
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Save Data Update Channel is a program that will repair save data for those who are unable to complete the Song of the Hero Quest in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The Channel can be downloaded to fix a file in which the problem is occurring. Additionally, players that have not yet reached the Song of the Hero Quest can use the channel to prevent the issue from occurring.
I hope this information has been helpful.
Sincerely,
XXXXXX

Yeah, I didn't write his name to respect his privacy, but I was very surprised with his informative reply.
