Hello everyone. Today I purchased the deluxe Wii U set, I just found out that the system itself doesnt need the club nintendo code, all it requires is linking your club nintendo account to it, however, the nintendo land game it came with did not have the code. Any solutions for this?
thats wierd that it didnt come with one. seeing that nsmbu came with a code.
It's advertised on the club nintendo site as being worth 70 points. But mine is without a code too.
maybe the code is only if you buy the game. and, not with the deluxe set.
If so, that is a disappointment.
From what I've seen online, the version bundled in with the Deluxe does not come with the registration code, only the seperately purchased one )=.
Same experience resulted here. I guess it makes some sense since you're essentially getting a deal on nintendo land by getting the bundle, not paying full price for it. Even still, I can't help feeling mildly shafted here.
and they included the codes with different wii bundles.
I'd like to know this as well. I picked up the Wii U Deluxe Set and was surprised to find Nintendo Land doesn't have a registration code (I even filled out the "Plan To Buy" survey a while back). I can't imagine it doesn't have one just because it's part of the deluxe set. That would be stupid. Why should it matter? I feel a bit cheated.
Agreed, paid more for Deluxe yet we don't get anymore coins than the basic would.
same I got the black on with the game but no code. I'd like my code plz
I think that the Wii U is all you can register in this case. In the more recent Wii bundles you registered the system and it would say something like Wii System + New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I'm not positive, but I think that's how it works for the Wii U Deluxe. Wii U also doesn't qualify for a warranty extension as a bonus for registering.
I couldn't believe this as well. It sounds really entitled to complain about, but... seriously? You're putting the codes IN the individual copies sold in stores, Nintendo had to make a concious decision to screw people that bought the Delux set. Club Nintendo has been really quitely getting worse and worse over the last year or so... I guess this is just another sign. Color me disappointed.
Ok, here's the scoop I got from the Nintendo support line yesterday when I called about this. Apparently Nintendo is doing bundle registrations differently going forward.
I was told that the Nintendo Land bundled code is triggered by the system registration. Once you've registered your system and linked your account to the console it will register the game to your purchases on the back-end for your points.
I told the guy I was a but leary of this process and he indicated that if for some reason I don't get the product registration for Nintendo Land, I can cut the UPC symbol off the package (really not happy about this idea) and physically mail it into them explaining that I'm missing my registration code. They will then register it for me on the back-end. Ultimately he said wait 7-10 days after I register my system to see if everything is ok and if it doesn't show up to call them back first.
For the record, I think this is a bogus story. Nobody there seemed to have a clue about the game not having a registration code included and at first he was treating it like an anomolly. He had to put me on hold twice to do some checking. I politely told him that given the fact that they are showing a +70 point registration bonus for this title on the site and it's clear nobody got a registration code, they better be working fast on a contengency plan or this is going to be lots of complaints coming there way.
I recommend that everyone call the Nintendo support line and politely ask why they didn't get a registration code and ask what the fix is going to be. If they get enough phone calls (AGAIN BE POLITE) we may get some kind of formal statement here on the issue.
Right now I'm just trying to get past hours of connection errors to even get my system to pull down the initial update so I can link my account, then it's a wait and see matter.
That's.... pretty odd. Thanks for the replies so far guys.
I called their tech support earlier and mentioned this. He told me (as you say) that it is part of the bundle so it is intentional that I did not get a separate code. He didn't explain about that I should automatically get a survey for Nintendo Land eventually, but that actually makes sense. So I'll be watching my Club Nintendo account and hoping that comes in!
As a bundle you don't get credit for buying the game just the system. You don't get credit for buying games in bundle packages.
Everyone can relax. I just brought up the survey I got for linking my Nintendo Wii U to Club Nintendo. Here's the quote from the registration survey:
Thank you for purchasing and registering the Wii U Deluxe System.
You will receive 160 Coins for completing this short survey.
Comeback in 1 week and share with us your feedback on Nintendo Land. For a limited time only, we are offering a special 50 Coin bonus post-play survey in exchange for Wii U Deluxe Set owners’ feedback on Nintendo Land.
So there you have it. No Intend to Buy or Product Registration surveys, but the Post-Play survey is worth 50 coins. Not too shabby on top of the 160 coins from the system itself.
That's definitely something new they added, as there was no such explaination when I filled out the survey yesterday.
Good to see we'll be getting points for the game.

Thx for posting the info.
Not cool. Why does someone who bought the game at retail get 70 points while those of us who bought the bigger bundle with the game get 50? Not cool Nintendo NOT COOL.

its better than nintendo not giving us no points.
No it is shabby considering if you bought a basic WiiU and the game you get 230 compared to 210 for us with the deluxe.
You'd also have spent more money if you bought the game separately. ![]()
