So my system has worked flawlessly since launch. I was out of town last week, and when i got home on December 6th and powerd up the wiiU, none of the "most popular" game icons in Warawara plaza appear anymore...all of the NSMBU, ZombiU, Nintendoland, etc, are gone and have been replaced with the basic system things like Nintendo network, parental controls, friends list, etc...All the miiverse posts/pictures and mii's are gone and replaced with posts from "NINTENDO " and all the once diverse miis are now generic and all wearing the same colored shirts.
Figuring it was because i only had the first update from launch day, i went to settings and downloaded the second system update (the one from Dec 4th), and its still not showing the various games and stuff in Warawara like its used too.... if i actually go and load up miiverse i can see all the posts, and i did a test post on Nintendoland. the e-shop works fine, youtube, the internet browser, even did a connection test.... all fine, everything is great.... except Warawara plaza....can anyone help?? I am getting super frustrated with this, i loved seeing that up on screen what everyone else was saying and doing...tried everything i can think of (unplged console, removed sd card, poured through all the system settings menus) nothing has worked.... thanks for any help!!!
UPDATE:
It is still not working, so today (december 8th) so I Called Nintendo. The First girl on the line didnt even know what Warawara Plaza was... she said "you mean Mii plaza?"( i face palmed) ..then she transferd me...
The second girl had me check all my settings, which did nothing as they were all correct. She put me on hold for a few minutes, then came back and said the reason it was not working was likely due to inactivity from me being out of town (I really doubt this was the case, but i humored her) she then suggested I play games and stuff for a few days and that should repopulate it....as the games that show up are "tailored to your interests based on what you are playing" (i KNOW that this is not true, in fact the games that show up are the most played games by the community...) Then she told me to call back in a few days if that dosen't fix it...
So far 2 hours of nintendoland, and two hours of netflix... not helping at all... I will call Nintendo back on monday if nothing changes. I will post with another update in case anyone cares at all or is having the same problem...
Also if anyone else is expierincing this issue, please post whats happening with your console here as well, maybe i can point the Nintendo rep to this thread if they cant fix it.. On the phone they really didn't seem to understand what I was talking about, maybe if they see that more people are having this problem they will actually look into it
I am having the same problem. All online features work for me except the warawara plaza. It works fine on the other profiles on the same system but all I can see are the default apps that were before i connected to the internet. and yes it usec to work before
I was able to fix. If you have been reported with any post in miiverse, you have to reply that you understand and you also have to edit your post. Then it took a day or two for my plaza to work. Hope this helps!
POSITIVE UPDATE!!
So I used advice from the other Warawara thread on this same board tweaked it a bit and it worked!!
Here is what i did: (I only had one account on my system, unsure if it works if there is more then that)
1. Create a new "dummy" acount and new "Dummy" Nintendo Network ID
2. Deleted My broken User account but NOT the broken Nintendo Network ID (It prompts you with this choice when you select delete user)
3. Create a new user and link it to the broken Nintento Netowrk ID from step 2.
4. Once you get to the plaza with the new version of the broken Nintendo Network ID , go back the user select screen and delete ALL the dummy stuff from step 1
5. It then asks you to select a user (pick the one from step 3, ie: the one you are trying to fix). it will then ask if you want this to be the primary account. click yes. Then BOOM! Warawara is back!
Hope this helps some of you at least!

What exactly does erasing the user data do? I'm at my wits end, and this seems like a viable option. I'm just unsure about what this process will delete exactly. Any ideas?
i spoke with nintendo today about this and they said they hadnt recieved any reports. the rep said he was gonna gonna create a trouble report and escalate it up so it gets looked at by the techs. this is annoying and takes away from the experience. hoping for a fix.
When I called, they said the same thing. I really want to try the "fix" above, but I'm not sure what kind of data I lose if I delete my user. Is there anyway to backup the data and reattach it to a new user?
The only thing that helps without being to intruding to the system, is to turn the router off, start the Wii U, turn it off again. Then turn router on and start the Wii U again. It will refresh its MiiVerse cache in that case. You could also delete the connection from the Wii U. Turn it off. Turn it on and reinput the connection. Turn Wii U off again and start it up. This will also clear the cache. Or you can turn off MiiVerse altogether
