It says to use a bottle of water for added weight.  I cannot hold on to controller & water at the same time.  If you don't have the controller, you don't get credit.  Any suggestions?

I think they meant on your own free time to use that exercise with a water bottle, not using a water bottle with the Wii Remote when doing the exercise on the Wii Fit.

Simple fix - use weight in your opposite hand while keeping the controller in your hand.  i.e. when the Wii Fit asks you to do exercise with right hand, you exercice both hands - but use weight in your left hand.  Then do the opposite with your controller in left hand...

I think it means between exercises you drink water, not during.

You could use velcro or tape to attach the wii remote to the bottle.

Actually, I've found when you do the Tricep Extensions, it doesn't give you a 'score' like other games, even when you use the remote instead of additional weight.  So instead of the remote, use a bottle of water or a free weight (I'm using a 3lb hand weight) and follow along with the rhythm of up and down as shown on the screen.  You still aren't scored, but it does give you the time credit for the reps you do (3 minutes for 20 reps on each arm).   And it doesn't say at the end that you messed up or anything like if you fall off the board during other Strength Exercises.  It does habitually remind you to try increasing the weight, like with a bottle of water next time, but other than that, it's fine.

I refuse to do these anymore.  They make me very angry.

As a petite woman who lifts free weights often, I find some of the strength activities in this game to be poorly designed.

When I do single arm extensions in the gym, I usually use 10-15 lb dumbbells.  It is pretty much impossible to hold one AND the controller at the same time because of the orientation the game expects from the controller (vertical).  The closest thing I found that wasn't a waste of time was to hold one 25 lb dumbbell with both hands, with the controller squeezed onto the handle as close as vertical as possible... which then usually meant that it didn't always register my extensions.

So... in the interests of not breaking my controller (or anything else in the house), I just don't do these anymore.  Thumbs down.

Kudos!
