I've been playing on this file for four years and it suddendly disappears. This happened once but i got my file back by throwing the system around a little, but it didn't work this time. Can someone plz help me get my file back, I'm gonna flip out if can't. I am trying to beat everything on Perfect agent to unlock Dark difficulty until my file suddenly disappears.
I forgot to say, but it hada prob with my controller pack, so I had it repair it, thats when my file dissapeared. it said that files on my controller pack might be lost, what would that have to do with the cartridge???

In Perfect Dark it can save on the Game Pak itself and onto the Controller Pak, so if the battery has now died in the Game Pak and likely when you repaired your Controller Pak, all the memory saves were then unfortunately erased.

my idiot self also forgot to type: it is a used game, have no idea how long it was used for, batt. probably died, but my Combat Simulator Files and my People Files are still on the Game Pak, only my Agent file has dissapeared.
These are the n64 games that have batteries in the cart
1080 Snowboarding F-Zero X Harvest Moon 64 Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Major League Baseball featuring Ken Griffey Jr. Mario Golf New Tetris, The Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber Resident Evil 2 Super Smash Bros. WCW/NWO Revenge WWF: Wrestlemania 2000
Perfect dark does not have 1.
Once you foramted your mem card all data is lost.
you should save it to the cart and keep a copy on the mem card.

There are 3 save types for n64 carts. Sram(battery backed), eprom, and flash. there are only a handful that use flash to save. Command & Conquer is one of them.
Perfect Dark should not have a battery. If the saves are not there then the eprom chip is probly bad. in this case just use the n64 mem cards. Perfect Dark suports full use of the mem card. you can copy data to and from the cart.
