a lot of sites are now using the latest version of flash player which will not allow the Wii's Internet Channel version of flash player to watch the videos or play the games. please come out with an update for the Internet Channel soon that will update the flash player.

I believe Nintendo is only allowed to use version 7 or older of Adobe Flash since the Wii doesn't use Windows or some other operating system that Adobe currently supports.

That's not true. I have posted 2 times spacifically on this matter and both times they were deleted. Both Adobe and Opera are claiming in post's that Nin. just isn't asking for any further updates to the internet channel. They keep charging people for outdated software though. Adobe has stated that there are flash player updates out there that allow for an equivalent of FP9 that is easily complatable to the Wii and Opera has stated that they are willing to make the updates if Nin. would ask. Nin. has done nothing however to correct this that I know of. How unfortunate for us.

Dude, quit the freak out, it wasn't until May 1st that Adobe opened up. Nintendo just released a bunch of stuff, and has the market at a pretty unstable point, even if it is for the better. Chances are they're working on it, the browser does have more things to improve upon other than the Flash player, give it some time. They'll release an update when the market needs it.

It's not a freak out. I would just like them to let us know that it is at least being worked on. They can tell us about a game that's coming out in 2 years  but can't tell us if they will update the wii channel or not. Is it too much to ask for them just to say, "Hey everyone we know there are things with the internet channel that need to be worked on and we are working on it." I've stated before that I really like a lot of the things that Nin. is doing, I'm a life time long fan, but I just hate to see them doing so much but only doing them half way so they can get more stuff out.

It's like only baking a cake half way so you can get more cakes made. Soon you have all these cakes, which is great, but they are all only half way done.

I don't know all the details that would require the update for Nintendo to add the Flash Players... but they are offering the internet over the Wii and we did pay to have it put on the Wii. We should be getting the most out of it. I think they should update the flash players too.

They can't really do that because of the Wii's small limited amount of space. If you are one of the people who like to buy Wii Shop Channel/Wii Ware Games you would know that the games would not be able to fit. I'm no longer looking forward to new channels because I won't be able to download them with my 10 blocks left.

Some people do have the space for it and I din't believe it would really take up that much space, regardless Nin should at least give us the choice.

I'd like to add my voice to the call for flash player 9.  There is ao much video content out there and the WII is an outstanding device for bringing that video to your TV... Currently you can begin Youtube and other site videos playing on their pages and then zoom in and move the window to fill the screen (which is cumbersome) but you cannot jump to full screen which requires 9, nor can you play the video offered on many sites like NBC news which require 9 just to play in their player window. My fear is that more sites will require 9 and what we have today with youtube will go away. I am enjoying watching all the music videos on YouTube on my big TV and don't want to lose that feature!!

I'm going to post this in its own thread too!!
Kudos!
