I have a new wii and wii fit. I followed the instructions to sync the balance board and it seemed to work. I started the wii fit disk and the body fitness test started. The program got just to the point where it asks for my height and birthdate but after I entered this information and confirmed it, a message appeared on the screen for me to step off the board and press the A button. However, at this point, I was not yet standing on the board. I can't get past this step. If I unplug everything and re-sync, the same thing keeps happening.

My mother recently bought a Wii Console, plus the Wii Fit and Balance Board. We had the same problem trying to set up the Balance Board. The Wii sensor was on top of the TV, which happens to be a very large wide-screen TV, so the sensor was about 4 feet off the ground. The room is fairly small, so the Balance Board was on the floor, about 4 feet in front of the TV. I think the angle between the Balance Board and the sensor was just too steep. When we move the sensor to a lower position, just below the TV screen, about 18 inches off the ground, the Balance Board works fine. Good Luck!
