I am wondering what a system transfer from 3DS to 3DS will include when it becomes available. I am interested in gettting the new red 3DS that is coming out but would like all my data from my 3DS that I had bought around it's launch. Also I was wondering if they do make the update avaiable by then will my Ambassador thing transfer over to the new 3DS so I can download the games for free? I'm also just looking for anythoughts on the matter or please share if you have seen something offical.
Sorry, but there has been no official word on what if any full 3DS~3DS system transfer would allow, so until Nintendo ever does announce it or releases the update that allows it, you probably should really make any eShop purchases on the basis that you can't or won't ever be able to transfer it to another 3DS.
If you would like more information on transferring(3DS to 3DS or DSi to 3DS) Read this:Re: Questions about data transfer. DSi to 3DS. 3DS to 3DS. What are the limitations?
So still no idea if the amabssador stuffs will transfer when 3DS to 3DS becomes available? That sort of stinks. I really want to buy the new one and I thought that was the point of the system transfers.
The manual for the 3DS Transfer Tool (for transferring from the DSi to 3DS) says that free games are not transferred. I suspect that the 3DS to 3DS transfer tool will be the same. This means that your Ambassador games may not be transferrable.
When I asked Nintendo about it they said not to worry that the feature to 3DS to 3DS transfer would be released in an update soon. But that since it was not released they could not say the the specifics to what a 3DS to 3DS transfer would entail. They recommended that I keep my 3DS that is eligible for the ambassador program until all the information about it is released. Just thought I would share this with you guys ^^ It doesn't really answer anything but still at least I got a response.
I found out from another thread (http://techforums.nintendo.com/message/47600#47600) that according to Nintendo of Europe's announcement of Europe's Ambassador Programme, they (European Ambassadors) will be allowed to transfer all Ambassador games (NES and GameBoy Advance) to a different 3DS, if they wish. While that does not necessarily mean that we in America will be allowed to transfer our Ambassador games, it seems quite likely that we will.
However, I think it is a good idea to take the Nintendo rep's advice and hold tight until more details about the 3DS transfer are available.
