Streetpass Problem

So I went to this exhibit at a local museum that had 3DS units on display. I checked and saw that the wireless on them was on. The only problem is that my 3DS didn't seem to pick them up. I was in range for about an hour. No streetpass. So I checked one of the unit's streetpass plaza and it had miis from streetpass in it. So this must mean that my 3DS has a problem. Streetpass is on, wireless switch on. What's going on?

Re: Streetpass Problem

There are a variety of reasons why this could occur.  StreetPass cannot happen in situations such as one of the systems being online, certatin software running while the system is open, being in DS mode, or when about 8 hours hasn't passed since the last StreetPass tag between those specific systems.  In order to tell if there really was an issue I would need more information.

Re: Streetpass Problem

That eliminates the obvious issues.  Have you gotten any StreetPass tags before or since this incident?

Re: Streetpass Problem

That case may be the problem.  I know for sure that there are some metals which can block a wireless signal, but I don't know for sure if aluminum is one of them.  You should try to get a StreetPass tag without the case to check if that is the problem.

Re: Streetpass Problem

To StreetPass, both 3DS need to be in sleep mode. Also, at stores, they have a 3DS out for people to try, but it doesn't have the StreetPass function on.

Re: Streetpass Problem

Well, that is an odd glitch. Have you contacted Nintendo about it?

Re: Streetpass Problem

StreetPass can be on while the system is open as long as wireless communications are not in use for anything else and the software currently runing allows it to.

Re: Streetpass Problem

As I said above, you shuld try removing that aluminum case first, and see if that fixes your problem.  If that doesn't help, then you should probably contact Nintendo.

Re: Streetpass Problem

3ds' on display don't usually have streetpass turned on (at least from my experiences of walking by lots of different 3ds displays). Hope this helps.

Re: Streetpass Problem

First of all the streetpass have a limit of 10 tags

after that you have to open the plazas and welcome the Mii to get new tags...

Then you will get yours.

Either your 3DS or The ones in display was full at that moment...

Re: Streetpass Problem

Turn your wireless on and off. This should allow the streetpass to work.

Re: Streetpass Problem

Dude, its at a museum...

I would think the workers at the museum would not want people to be submitting information and exchanging it. x.x
