BLACK WII without game cube ports!?!?!?!?!?!

I recently purchased the black wii thinking it was the same as the white one, or the first black verticle wii, its not. There is no flap to play game cube games because this wii has better graphics and stuff.. okay thats cool, i dont want to play game cube games... but i did however buy a ddr game with a dance mat. (WII GAME) and now i cant play it?!?! .. Does anyone know of ANY possible adapters?? like a game cube controller to usb? or should i return my game?

Please HELP

I don't think there is any difference in graphics with the new wii sku.  It is just cheaper and has no gamecube ports.

And, no, I don't think an adaptor is available.  If you really want to play that game I guess you will have to buy an older model wii.

Return the Wii and buy a refurbished Wii, as you will still get the 12 month warranty for a Wii refurbished by Nintendo.  The new Wiis do NOT have better graphics than the old Wiis.

Also, complain loudly to Nintendo about this.  This decision was incredibly dumb on their part.

They can be reached at 1-800-255-3700 or http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform.jsp.

If you come across a solution please share it. I contacted Nintendo & all they repeated was that the DDR game was made by Konami & I should contact them...

I can kind of see why Nintendo told you to contact Konami. But, it is Nintendo's fault that the accessory for a Wii game won't work because they removed the GameCube ports.

Re: BLACK WII without game cube ports!?!?!?!?!?!

I called Nintendo, told them I had purchased this black Wii and an Active Life game for my son.  After I opened both, I found out the mat needed a gamecube port.  Since neither box tells me this, and both say Nintendo Wii all over them, I had no way of knowing they wouldn't be compatible. Nintendo sent me a new console with ports and I sent them back the old one. No charge.  They said there weren't any adapters, but new white wii console certainly solved my problem, and it was free.

I made the same mistake some years ago. I got the Black one and the dance mat an all. Well you can sell the Black wii console alone and do what I did, buy the old white wii console alone on eBay for like $50 you may even find a white wii for that price that comes with all Accessories on eBay
