wii internet connection

I got connected to internet sucessfully,but  when I turn off power to the wii, the power light goes from green to yellow/amber.Before I had internet connection, the power light would go from green to red. Why is this??..............

This happens to me too.  To make it go to red, I hold the power button on the Wii console for a little bit rather than just tapping it.  Also, the yellow light indicates that it is in sleep mode.

The yellow light indicates that it is in standby mode. This means it will periodically connect to WiiConnect24 to get information. You can find more information on this mode and how to activate or deactivate it on this page (click here.)
