I have two different copies of Super Mario World. The game will only allow me to get as far as Iggy Koopa in the first castle. As soon as I go into fight him, Mario suddenly dies before I even get a chance to jump on Iggy. One game did it no matter how many times I played it. So, I bought another copy and it does the same exact thing! I have played other games on my SNES with no issues whatsoever. Has anyone else had this type of thing happen? What are the odds of two different copies having the same error?!
hmmm it might be a glich that is common to the mario game as if it can play other games fine i dont think it would be the snes...... i would whate and see if anyone else can awnser your question or see if nintendo will awnser the question if you call them.
I still have more than enough time left when I go in to fight Iggy Koopa at that point. I never even get a chance to jump on his head. As soon as I get to that point he dies. I do think it is a glitch in the game but am boggled as to why two different copies do the same thing. I may have to find a NEW copy of the game. The one I had bought recently was a used copy. I just don't want to buy a new copy and have it do the same thing. I could play the game on my Wii but that entails having to buy the game plus the Wii controllers. I'd rather have a working copy for the SNES system. It looks like I may have to go the Wii route though....
Will a bad battery in the game itself cause this problem? I know it will cause you to not be able to save your progress. But, I'm wondering if that would cause game errors as well.
I've had the one copy for quite a few years. It started doing the glitch about a year ago when I decided to haul out the SNES and play some Mario. I recently bought the other copy used. It very well may be the case. They both have a CMOS battery in them.
the mario cardtridges have been known for glitches in certain parts of the game, like the pokemon cardtridges. my super mario land for game boy glitches in world 2-3 or further and i can never pass the 2nd world levels. you should just play the super mario world games the way they are if other solutions didn't work and just deal with the glitch.
