Just got my Wii U set up today.
After trying repeatedly to start the system update and getting that error everyone was getting because the servers were overloaded, it finally started. I left it alone for a couple of hours.
When I came back, it said the update had completed and I needed to restart my system. When I did so, it booted up fine once. I got to the point where I could pick the account to log in as, and I decided to edit my Mii. For some reason the system was taking forever navigating to that part, and then the pad went black and gave me an error message (which I foolishly didn't write down.)
After that, it was hard locked. I had to pull the plug from the main console. After trying to restart it, I see the "Wii U" logo appear on the pad and on my TV, with some sounds/music for maybe 20 seconds or so, then it fades out, and...nothing. It just sits there. At that point the console is hard locked; you can't turn it off by holding down the power or anything. I have to pull the power cord again to turn it off.
I tried unplugging everything and waiting five minutes and plugging it into a regular wall outlet that's worked fine, and still no dice.
My theory is that something went wrong when downloading the massive day one update and despite saying it completed the update successfully, it actually did not complete it successfully and screwed up.
Any ideas? Is this yet another day one bricked Wii U? Pretty disappointing if it is. ![]()
I was downloading Darksiders 2. Because of the size of the download and the time it was taking to download. I turn off the auto downloaded. It got to 7% left and stop working and a erarre came up. So I went to try and start the download again. Left the room for about an Hr and half. Came back. The Wii U was turned off.
I went to try and turn it back on with the Game Pad and it would not contect to the Wii U. So I try to trun it on by hand.
Comes on Blinks 3 times go right back off. I can not eject the game in there. Bought the Delexed version so I have the extra memory and ever thing and now I can not use the system.
i got to move all the Wii stuff over to it and ever thing. If I have to send it into Nintendo will I lose all of that because that over $1000 worth of downoads that I not going to be happy about losing.
This all happened about 3 hrs ago
I called them they said it should take 5 to 6 days to fix and get it back to me. The guy slip up and say they are having this happen a lot. They plan on trying to keep all my data.
I will have to ship it out tommro. I can now sleep well knowing that Nintendo is going to fix their problem. Funny think I not go to play Darksiders 2 still on the Wii U but I got the servay to take in my club account. I should tell them I will awnser te questios when I get to play it
What all did they tell you to send just the concle or all of it (cords, the game pad, ect.
My has a game stuck in it so I hope I get the game back. I sent just the concle because they guy say send the system but did not say anything about what all he ment if that ment the game pad also or what.
