When i plug in my Nintendo DS Lite,the orange light comes on,but when i try to turn the DS on the green light comes on,next to it for a couple seconds then goes back off.Whats wrong and how can I fix it?

When i plug in my Nintendo DS Lite,the orange light comes on,but when i try to turn the DS on,the green light next to the orange one only comes on for a second,but then it goes back off.Whats wrong and how can I fix it?

maybe its just old, and needs repair, it sounds like somethings not keeping a charge
