I know this is probably a silly question. But I was wondering if pressing reset on your console to many times, or rather to often, could cause some sort of damage to the system. The only reason I am asking, is becuase I constantly press reset, instead of eject on my console. So anyways, could pressing reset to often cause any sort of damage to the system? Thanks in advance for your answers.
I knew it was a silly question, but a valid one none the less... Just was sitting there thinking, hmmm. I press that reset button about a million times a day instead of eject, and was just wondering if for some reason it could damage the system... Probably not good to sit and reset it. Even though resetting does not fully shut off the system. Because the menu screen pops right back up, and loads instantly after pressing reset.
Also if it is of any concern, I always press the reset button when the system is just sitting on the menu, so its not in the middle of a game or anything. Thanks for your answers, and I would love to hear a few more. Thank you.
Nope. Pressing the reset button on the home page won't hurt the Wii either Except, I did hear that if you press the power button in the middle of playing a game, I might damage the Wii over the years.
Does that also count if you press the reset button in the middle of a game? I know one time I unplugged the console when playing a game.... It was not doing anything, just sitting in the online lobby on black ops...... Only happened once, and I am determined not to let it happen again.
I am in the habit of fully closing a game before powering off the console, and I only power off the console once I am in the menu sectrion of the console. So hopefully not harm done there. I like to think I take good care of my little console. Anyways, thanks for the reply.
