Is there any way to update the 3DS without an internet connection, such as copying files to the SD card?

As I don't own one yet I haven't looked in the mantel to even see if that's possable; I just hope it's as esay as running an Windows, Mac, or Linux app to make an update DVD for your blu-ray player and just boot off that. This Is just an gusses It may not work. By the way DVD-R will be repalced the SD card in this case.
