I bought a 4GB SD card, in which I want to use in place of the 2GB SD card that came with the 3DS. Is there any way I can transfer the content from the stock card to the new card? I have all of my downloaded game data on the old card such as DOA content. I tried copying the SD card to my computer and copied it to the 4GB and the 3DS wouldn't read any of the content.
I keep on getting error code 0x80070079, this is the error code on the pc. I'll try another pc but im thinking it will be the same. If it were not for the 4 hours of play time of Links Awakining I would just redownload everything but thats last resort.
You say that the 3DS cannot read the content on the new card. Can your PC read the content on the new card? If so, is the directory structure and files on the new SD card exactly the same as on the old SD card?
I'm having the same exact problem right now. I've transfered data from SD cards before without a problem, but now things aren't working as they should. Months ago I transfered all my data from the included 2GB SD card to a SanDisk 4GB SD card, and everything copied over without a problem. Now I want to transfer my data over to a new 16GB SDHC card, but after copying all of the data over to the new SD card, my 3DS doesn't read any of the data in the Nintendo 3DS folder. It reads the data from the DCIM and Music folders just fine, as my photos, videos, and music all appear in Nintendo 3DS Camera and Nintendo 3DS Sound, but none of my downloaded games appear on my HOME Menu, nor does save data or extra data appear in System Settings. What's going on here? =/
Is it possible that the SD card is formatted as NTFS? If so, the 3DS will not be able to read it, since it only supports FAT and FAT32.
If this is the problem you will have to:
No, because i already formated it to FAT32..actually 3DS recognize my SD card...it can detect my mp3 files and photo file...but it can't recognize demo, apps and games. If i put my old SD card (4Gb the new one is 16Gb) it can recognize all the files..
