Hi Folks, I didn't know where to go to ask this, so I'm hoping I'm in the correct area. I was wondering, can you play 3DS games on a DSi XL game Consule?
Yep, you got it right. 3DS game cartidges can't be played on older DS systems due to an extended corner that prevents them from going into the older hand-held slots.
Darn, I was hoping we could play them. Oh, well, I guess I will be waiting until they get a larger Screen like the XL for the 3DS's. I can't see much of anything on the smaller screens.
The 3DS XL is coming out on August 19 in America for $200!
You can see it here:
To put it short, no. These games can only be played on a Nintendo 3DS or a Nintendo 3DS XL. The Nintendo 3DS isn't an improved Nintendo DS system, but an entirely new handheld system. It can play most of today's Nintendo DS, DSi, and DSi Ware games. The Nintendo DSi XL is limited to playing Nintendo DS, DSi, and DSi Ware only. Also, 3DS game cards cannot be inserted into Nintendo DS systems anyways because of that one little piece of plastic sticking out of the corner. Is there a name for that "thing" anyways? I always sound dumb when I try to describe that little part of the 3DS game cards.
